NVPPS is a collaboration within the State of Nevada and the counties and the public and private agencies within those counties, along with individuals with lived experiences who have an essential role to play as part of a national strategy, to help advocate for a sustainable peer driven behavioral health system of care for recovery and wellness, for persons with Mental Health/Substance use and Co-Occurring challenges. These partnerships will allow agencies to have more people within their service system with lived experiences to help bolster the recovery environment in their work place for individuals they serve.
NVPPS is working toward developing a system that will fully utilize Peer Recovery Services as a valued member of an agency and are fully integrated members of the Mental Health/Substance and Co-Occurring challenges delivery system, where equality and respect between Peer Recovery Services and traditional professionals are reciprocal.
NVPPS believes choice and determination are important components in everyone’s recovery, including individuals receiving and providing services.
